Junior Tennis Program
Brentwood Swim and Tennis is home to the Competitive Edge Junior Program which hosts USTA Junior Tournaments, UTR events, plus one of the best Junior Development Programs in the state. In the past 12 years we have had 56 players from the Program to go on to play on college tennis teams. Brentwood and Ravenwood Boy’s and Girl’s High School Tennis Teams have won the State Championships 12 times in the last 10 years. 75% of the players on these teams have trained in our Junior development Program, plus most of the recent players from MBA varsity teams.
We believe offering strength & conditioning, as well as physical therapy (information below) is important to the success and development of our young athletes. We have also partnered with the performance app APEAK to help young players develop mental toughness, tactical awareness and goal setting. This program is available at a reduced rate for Junior students. While we encourage a “no excuses - train harder”, our primary goal is to make each player stronger in mind and body on and off the court.
Competitive Edge Tennis
Our Competitive Edge Program is for junior tennis players competing in USTA tournaments and who are already ranked in the state. There will be a lot of time devoted to correcting modern technique, entrance shots, patterns of play, and developing the correct mental focus to compete at a high level.
Many of the drills and games will be played under pressure to simulate tournament conditions. Each day we will work on specifics needed to improve the group. There will be an on-court conditioning program each day, video analysis, when necessary, plus ongoing evaluations for parents and players. Competitive data will be taken throughout the month and used to map out future areas of need for each individual player.
Tournament competition and challenge matches are mandatory. Level and attitude will determine acceptance into these groups, and they are by invitation only.
